A new Evergreen Bright Start apartment complex in Bremerton, with on-site services, will support young adults, ages 18-24 who are exiting foster care or facing homelessness. “A soft place for people to learn” is how their program was described. Annette Kingsbury of God’s Children Clothing Closet and Joanne Warren of SKSD, spoke about how they are providing clothing to students in need. Clothes are housed at the Port Orchard United Methodist Church and are brought to the students at their school. (June 12, 2024) ————————————————————–
Jodie Toth, Deputy Director of the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, told us about sustaining marine bounty in the modern age; creative solutions for restoration of Salish sea species. Everyone agreed this was very interesting information about restoring the native species. (June 5, 2024)

Their mission is “A Catalyst for the Greater Good” and there are LOTS of good things happening in Kitsap County! www.KitsapFoundation.org. Ingrid Hartsock, Market Coordinator with Port Orchard Farmers Market, spoke at our meeting about their mission of providing a community gathering space with access to locally-grown and created farm goods and products, agricultural programs, and educational activities, for all members of the community.
